The world Lakes Oceans and Rivers are the important resources which influence the life of this beautiful world. It’s said that those close and those far from these sources all of us influence their conditions, as we all reside in catchment areas. Humans need food, and a good living environment but the climate is changing, fish in the natural environment are declining at an alarming rate and we have changed the water bodies to be dumping sites. With all these 12 brave Aquatic Scientists decided the combat the improper utilization of these resources by formation the Non-Governmental Organization aims at enhancing sustainable utilization of aquatic resources, through sustainable aquaculture and rebuilding the fisheries of Tanzania in the response of the bring the world that has hunger is a tale with achieved food security, improved nutrition and well-being, a better world with favorable CLIMATIC conditions at reduced impacts.

Economic competitive and sustainable Aquaculture
Aquaculture as a first growing sector globally is currently benefiting millions across the globe, but its growth in Tanzania is facing numerous challenges, despite of having more than 35% of arable land for Aquaculture, three great lakes, and a lot of small lakes and rivers, and a coastline of more than 1400km, Aqua-Farms Organization is developing community aquaculture solution to enhance the supply of lean protein, reduce fishing pressure and improve livelihood, through training, workshops, consultancies and research on aqua-farming (plants and animals), improving knowledge on freshwater aquaculture (Tilapia and catfish) and Mariculture ( Seaweed, Sea cucumber, crabs and half pearl farming). Offering knowledge on best aqua-farming practices to better help and inform aqua-farmers in Tanzania on potential opportunities, and solutions along the aquaculture value chain.
Sustainable Fisheries
Capture fisheries is declining rapidly and more than 4 million people depend on fishing in Tanzania. Aqua-Farms Organization advocates for sustainable use of fisheries resources using Ecosystem Approach fishery, we offer training and skills on the proper fishing method. Illegal and unregulated fisheries, Community based researched on sustainable fisheries, community engagement and enhancement of Local Indigenous Knowledge in improving fishery as well as community health of the fishing communities and improved livelihood.
Conservation and Critical habitats
Anthropogenic pressure and the changes in climate have a direct impact on critical habitats of the ocean, Aqua-farms organization conducts community centred projects/solutions and research on management, protection, adaptation, resilience, restoration and rehabilitation of the vital ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrasses and coral reef ecosystems.
