Yusufu Kasato is a Food scientist, graphic designer, and science communicator from Tanzania. He is the head of Communications of Aqua-Farms Organization with substantial experience in branding, visual storytelling, strategic communications, and social media marketing. He is passionate about leveraging food security in Tanzania and sub-Saharan countries at large through the sustainable management of aquatic environments. With a background in Food Science and Technology from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), coupled with expertise in graphic design from the University of Colorado Boulder USA, He has been able to communicate multiplexed environmental and food security issues in a way that is accessible to a wide audience. He is a fellow at Nature Environment Wildlife and Filmmakers (NEWF) of South Africa, and a Graphic design consultant for the Kilwa octopus fishery traceability project at Aqua-Farms with the Tanzania Ministry of Fishery and Livestock, Fishwise, USAID and Seafood Alliance for Legality and Traceability (SALT). His goal is to drive positive change in the aquaculture and fishery industry by promoting sustainable practices that protect the environment and support healthy food access in local communities. Yusufu believes that through collaboration, education, and innovation, we can build a more resilient food system that meets the needs of current and future generations.
