OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE 2024 NEWF FELLOWS SUMMIT & CONGRESS

We are so excited to share our recent participation in the 2024 NEWF Fellows Summit & Congress, which was held at the Elangen & Maharani Southern Hotel in Durban, South Africa from February 26th to March 1st, 2024.

The NEWF Fellows Summit & Congress is an annual convergence of minds, bringing together scientists, storytellers, filmmakers, conservationists, and more. Its mission is to break down barriers, build capacity, and promote equality for African nature, environment, and wildlife visual storytellers.

At this year’s event, we had the privilege of representing the Aqua-Farms Organization, showcasing our expertise in Marine Science, Coral Reef Restoration, and Leadership. It was an enriching experience to connect and network with a diverse group of professionals, sharing insights and ideas to drive conservation efforts forward.

During the summit, we proudly shared the story of Aqua-Farms Organization with fellow participants. It was inspiring to see their interest in our work and contributions to the conservation community. We discussed our background, mission, and the impact we aim to achieve in the realm of marine conservation.

Despite our busy schedules, we made time to attend engaging sessions on personal branding, grant writing, narrative building, and more. These sessions provided valuable knowledge and skills that we are eager to apply to our work at Aqua-Farms, enhancing our ability to make a difference in the conservation landscape.

The summit was not just about learning and networking; it was also about building connections and enjoying memorable experiences. From morning exercises to lively music sessions and shared meals, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the event, creating lasting memories.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to NEWF for inviting us to participate in this transformative event. It was an honor to be part of such a dynamic and inspiring community dedicated to conservation and storytelling. We are thankful for the opportunity to contribute our knowledge and learn from others, furthering our mission of protecting our marine ecosystems.
