Husna Amimu is a pioneering marine scientist, Tanzania’s first female Open Water Diving Instructor, and Reef Restoration Officer dedicated to bridging the gap between science, community empowerment, and ocean conservation. She holds a BSc in Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries from the University of Dar es Salaam. With experience in conducting scuba diving courses, coordinating coral reef restoration projects, and empowering youth and coastal communities through environmental education, she brings both passion and purpose to her work. Skilled in underwater research, storytelling, project coordination, and team leadership, she has nearly two years of hands-on experience in reef rehabilitation and sustainable ocean initiatives. She is committed to changing the narrative around diving and ocean conservation in Tanzania and beyond by fostering inclusive, impactful, and locally driven solutions.
