Floriana Florian is an aquatic science professional with extensive experience in community-based coastal resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and small-scale fisheries management.

Floriana’s work extends to training and engaging coastal communities in coral reef management, small-scale fisheries governance, and alternative livelihood.

In addition to her fieldwork, she is actively researching youth invisibility in small-scale fisheries, exploring factors influencing youth participation and the socio-economic implications of their limited involvement.

Floriana’s dedication to creating scalable, sustainable solutions for coastal communities highlights her as a champion for equitable and inclusive development in East Africa’s blue economy
