Kaitira Benard is an Aquatic scientist with 5 years of experience in the field, he is Founding member and Technical Advisor of Aqua-Farms Organization (AFO), he graduated with a Bachelor degree majoring in Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2017 and he did final-year research on the social economic aspect of fishermen, he is a member of the Western Indian Ocean Early Carrier Scientist Network (WIOESN), Member of Tanzania Fisheries and Aquatic Environmental Organization (TAFAEO) Nature Environment Wildlife and filmmakers (NEWF) fellow, he is also a certified Advanced Open water dive.
He spends most of his time working with the coastal community by engaging them in conservation and sustainable utilization of aquatic resources. He has experience in the conservation and management of coastal critical habitats (mangroves, Seagrasses, and Coral reefs) through community-based approach.
